Lou Boldt series by Ridley Pearson - they're all "page-turners"
Joe Pickett series by C. J. Box - Pickett's a WY game warden
Harry Bosch series by Michael Connelly - an LAPD cop
The Desert Queen by Janet Wallach - non-fiction about Iraq's beginning
The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley - 11 year old detective, entertaining
The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski - great story for a dog lover

Other favorite authors are; David Baldacci, Nelson DeMille, Stieg Larssen, and Peter Mayle.
